The soccer element of The Iron Games is set for the early evening of Friday 31 August and members of Haemochromatosis UK are being encouraged to come along and support the competing teams.
The tournament is taking place at The Hive (Barnet FC) and is the second element of The Iron Games. The first element, Gaelic Football, was won by the team from Toureen Group. Future elements are hurling and golf.
Ten construction companies are taking part in The Iron Games to raise money for Haemochromatosis UK’s education programme, and to raise the profile of iron overload among Irish people. Sponsorship has brought over £100,000 for the charity, our biggest ever fundraiser.
“It’s truly amazing that The Iron Games has generated so much interest, and of course so much money”, said David Head, Chief Executive at Haemochromatosis UK, “I hope that lots of our London members can get out to The Hive on 31st August to show our support and appreciation for the players and event organisers.”
Haemochromatosis UK supporters who turn up on the night will be given #teamironoverload t-shirts.
