Haemochromatosis UK is currently focusing our awareness raising activity on the North West of England. There are three reasons for this:
- The region includes a large number of our members and, because there are lots of families with Irish heritage in the region, we know there are many people there who are undiagnosed, probably in a higher concentration that other areas of England
- There is an active support group in the area who hold regular meetings and who are keen to meet with and engage with other patients
- There is a network of willing volunteers who are able to look after stands and attend events on our behalf
If you would like to get involved by taking part in the group’s meetings, or helping with their awareness raising activity, please contact the Genetic Haemochromatosis North West Support Group.
