Other Ways To Help

Here are a few other ways you can help The Haemochromatosis Society.

Foreign currency

Euro signPlease send us any foreign or old currency you have no use for. Even small amounts of coinage have some value, as we can collect it all together and secure enhanced exchange rates. We will gladly accept the following:

  • any banknotes, current or obsolete, from any country
  • any coins, current or obsolete, from any country
  • medals and similar collectibles
  • commemorative coins and sets

Organised in partnership with Left Over Currency (https://www.leftovercurrency.com).

Coins can be posted to us or brought along to one of our events. We may be able to arrange collection of large amounts of coin; please call us on 03030 401101.

Stamps

StampStamps and stamp collections can be readily turned into funds for the charity.

Donated unused current UK stamps will be used to offset our postage costs. Bulk used stamps can be sold to sorters and stamp collections valued for sale. Please consider donating:

  • unwanted stamp collections, for example in albums or mounted, or
  • used UK stamps cut from envelopes (with a 5mm border) sent in batches of at least 0.5kg, or
  • unused UK postage stamps (any number or denomination)

Please send stamps to the office address at the foot of this page.

Jeans For Genes

In 2017 The Haemochromatosis Society joined the Jeans 4 Genes programme organised by The Genetic Alliance, allowing us to use Jeans 4 Genes Day each year as a fundraiser. If you would like to organise a Jeans 4 Genes day on our behalf, for example at a workplace or school, please get in touch.

For details of how the scheme works please visit https://www.jeansforgenesday.org/register/ and select The Haemochromatosis Society as the affiliate partner.
