New trustee appointed at Haemochromatosis UK

Katharine HoughHaemochromatosis UK is delighted to announce an addition to our board with the appointment of new trustee and director Miss Katharine Hough effective immediately.

Katharine has haemochromatosis and lives in London, though her family roots are in the North West of England.

David Head, Chief Executive at the charity, welcomed the news saying “At 27 Katharine is our youngest trustee and brings that fresh perspective to the organisation. More importantly, she brings a great skill set including project and event management, strategic planning and working with digital media.”

Katharine wrote “The help and support I received when I was diagnosed is something I would like to ensure everyone has access to … on a personal level, the charity means a lot to me, but I do think more needs to be done. The process of development the charity is undertaking is fascinating. I have loved watching it grow and I believe I can help with continuing this process.”

Katharine’s appointment will be ratified by members at the AGM in April and will then be for a term of three years initially.

The board is still seeking to appoint up to two further trustees with the following skills:

  • hands on project management and participation
  • leadership and facilitation (with a view to the Vice-Chair role)
