The Genetic Haemochromatosis Patients’ Conference 2017, which was held in Birmingham earlier this month, has been hailed as a great success. The event brought together about 150 delegates and was the largest ever gathering of GH patients in the UK.
A series of superb speakers addressed delegates and answered questions, and the excellent venue and catering meant that people were able to meet and chat to other patients in a relaxed environment.
Howard Don, Chairman at The Haemochromatosis Society, said “I thoroughly enjoyed our conference last week. Hard work in the build-up, followed by a tiring but exhilarating day and ultimately immensely worthwhile, with a feeling of great satisfaction at the end.
“This was our record attendance, easily topping the previous record set in Manchester last year. Judging by unofficial feedback most people seemed to think it our best ever conference with some terrific presentations and high level of questioning from the audience. There was good allowance for networking in the breaks, and the “buzz” around the place was palpable. Thanks to all who attended.”
