The Haemochromatosis Helpline is manned by volunteers who have been trained to help.
In addition, all of our volunteers are either affected by GH themselves, or have a family member who is affected. This means that they understand what you are dealing with, what you may be feeling, and the importance of getting answers to your questions.
The helplines is entirely free, and is totally confidential. We do not retain any recordings of calls, and we do not ask you for your name or other identifying details.
You can be assured of a safe and friendly ear.
The service operates Monday to Friday and you can call between 9am and 9pm. Because this is a volunteer service, if you do not get an answer, please leave your number and we will return your call. You do not have to leave your name if you prefer not to. The number to ring is 03030 401102.
Please email your question or questions at any time to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will always respond within 3 working days – and usually the same day. We keep email threads for 28 days in case there are follow up messages back and forth but after this time they are deleted. We don’t keep any identifying records so you can be assured of confidentiality.
Please contact The Haemochromatosis Helpline with any question, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant. If something is bothering you, then it is important, and we can help.
