September fundraising success

1 October 2018 The month of September was a fundraising success as many of our supporters raised funds for Haemochromatosis UK and awareness of the genetic condition. Kevin Kane was diagnosed with genetic haemochromatosis in June 2017 after visiting the GP about seemingly unconnected symptoms. After consultations and venesections he is now in maintenance. Lisa Launches Long Long Hike for THS

Trustee and GH patient Lisa Flude starts “Lisa and Meg’s Big Tour” this coming weekend, setting off on a hike expected to cover 1,000 miles and raise several thousand pounds for three charities close to her heart – including The Haemochromatosis Society. Lisa and Meg’s Big Tour: Trustee Walks 1,000 Miles For THS

The Haemochromatosis Society’s trustee Lisa Flude is undertaking a massive 1,000 mile walk, along with her dog Meg, to explore the midlands and north of the UK and to raise funds for the society, Air Ambulance charities, and The Dogs’ Trust. Hike 84 Miles For The Haemochromatosis Society

The Haemochromatosis Society has announced the details of The GH Challenge 2017, an 84 mile hike in September taking in the whole length of the famous landmark Hadrian’s Wall. The event follows the highly successful launch of The GH Challenge in 2016 when an intrepid group climbed Ben Nevis, reaching the summit and raising thousands of pounds for the charity (Read more…)

Rugby’s Mayor Draws Society Autumn Raffle

The Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Mrs Sally Bragg, drew the winning tickets in The Haemochromatosis Society’s Autumn Raffle yesterday (Monday 21 November) at her parlour in The Town Hall.
