The inaugural Big Rusty Quiz was a great success

The Big Rusty quiz began in late 2017 and saw groups of people all over the country running quiz nights with their friends and family to raise funds and awareness for the haemochromatosis society. Groups large and small came together for a night of DIY pub quiz fun.

The feedback we have received from the quiz participants has been very positive and we plan to make the Big Rusty Quiz an annual event. Those taking part ordered their pack from the society and then decided how they wanted to run their quiz. The pack included the question sheet, answers in a sealed envelope, answer sheets for 6 teams, picture round question and answer sheets, posters and invites.

As a charity we are always very grateful to our supporters and every fundraising activity has the advantage that it helps raise awareness of genetic haemochromatosis (GH) and our work to try and ensure people are diagnosed before damage is done as a result of iron overload.

Jo Perks who ran a quiz night from home said “The evening was a huge success and I was so glad that I decided to organise it! Awareness of haemochromatosis has been heightened amongst our community”.

Steve Clark ran a quiz with the members of his pub quiz team who entering with their wives. And described the event as “A very enjoyable evening”

The next Big Rusty Quiz will run in late 2018 and we hope it will be even bigger and better and grow into a well known event and a regular part of the haemochromatosis society calendar.
